Already in 1500 is ascertained a property of the Bernardini family in Segromigno in Monte. It was a plot of land on the hills north of Lucca, cultivated with vineyards and olive groves, in a panoramic position on the plain. There was, in addition to some rural buildings, a patronal house, the current Villa Bernardini.

FATTORIA MANSI BERNARDINI
HISTORY
THE 1800
During the 1800’s, the Bernardini family purchased the neighboring property of the Buonvisi family, constituting a single large farm. The Bernardini family enlarged the farm and carried out great works of agrarian improvement and general restructuring; the last heir of the Bernardini family, Antonietta, married Raffaello Mansi in 1890. Thus the property took the name Fattoria Mansi-Bernardini.

THE 1900
The estate will be then assigned to Antonietta’s eldest son, Luigi, on the occasion of his marriage, who will further develop the agricultural activities. Since then the story is of our days: during the last world war both the German and the Allied armies were hosted. In 1944 Leo Salom, who will marry Laura Mansi, arrives at Fattoria Mansi Bernardini. It will be him to save the company from the crisis of sharecropping in the 50s.
Starting from the 80’s the current owner Marcello Salom, grandson of Luigi and son of Leo Salom and Laura Mansi, moved by the same love for this place, started the tourist-rural development of the farm. Restructuring therefore one by one both the Villas Bernardini and Buonvisi and the farm buildings, and carrying out a continuous work of respect of the building typologies and of the landscape. In addition, the agricultural production of oil has been increased, planting up to 2500 plants.
